Post Brexit poems

New times, new targets.

Tom Lehrer said he gave up satire when Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Perhaps it is time to start it again. What are our political leaders playing at?? Talk abour Boys games, now Boris the Bullingdon Blusrerer has gone to a friendly stab in the back..

I've been trying to figure it out.

KIDS’ GAMES

Follow my Leader

Jeremy Corbyn

Man of the people,

Scourge of his foes on the right,

Found he

Had no Shadow Cabinet

They’d all vanished into the night.

Up popped

Angela Eagle

And said, “GO! You are finished here, quite.”

Said J C,  “No way,

I’m here and I’ll stay

And somehow I’ll keep up the fight”.

Fox, May

Leadsome and Gove

And someone called Crabb from the rest

Thought they

Would stand for election-

The only five people thought best.

“Watch out,”

 Gove told his friends,

“We all seek our own interest.

I’ve used that old tack

Of a stab in the back,

So watch out for a stab in the chest”.

These six

Political figures,

Cream of a broken system,

Are they

Serving our interest,

Or simply what’s in it for them?

Perhaps we

Need a new system

And maybe recall a Lib Dem.

If that’s not in the plot

We could import a Scot

And have Nicola S for PM.

A Public Buffoon.

A public buffoon plays a singular tune

Of insults and juvenile humour

He keeps up the pace with a grin on his face

While expounding a slanderous rumour.

He’s especially keen to be publicly seen

To rubbish a neighbouring nation -

So he’d mention a Frog or a Kraut or a Wog

With no hint of a slight hesitation.

It’s generally the case

He will always express

His Xenophobe face

To the popular press

With no hint of a slight hesitation.

To get somebody who’s to export all these views

We need to find someone who’ll muster

The aid of the Press, like the Mail or Express,

Who print arrogant Bullingdon bluster;

This is structured to please all the social C/Ds

And be British as William Morris;

We need someone we know – who’s both thorough and slow

With a work-rate ressembling a loris

With a decadent style

 And a privileged view

We can all for a while

Become decadent too

If we follow just one man – called Boris.

Congratulations, USA

You’ve voted in your man

With the moral code of Nero

And the tact of Ghengis Khan

“God bless America” he says

With triumph in his eyes;

Deception in that triumph lies,

And lies and lies and lies.

God has not blessed America

So let us rather pray

For all of us who wish you well

God help the USA

Its a bit warmer here so most things are up including weeds - the sea defences are damaged - 10.2 metre tide today, 50 knot gusts - and it goes on raining--
